Keuzegids Masters 2017: Hotelschool The Hague offers Best Business Master in the Netherlands!
The MBA in International Hospitality Management at Hotelschool The Hague, has been ranked Best Master of Business in the Netherlands. According to De Keuzegids, the one-year MBA Programme is outstanding, based on its practice-oriented programme and state-of-the-art facilities.
The Master programme is specialised and focuses on innovations in International Hospitality. The students mostly appreciate the practical approach of the programme, the school’s communication and the division of the study load.
The English-spoken one-year MBA is a fulltime programme and offers course subjects such as ‘Designing Hospitality Experiences’, ‘Leading Hospitality Change’ and ‘Business Strategy’.

New Video Hotelschool The Hague
As of Monday 20 February a new video of Hotelschool The Hague is available on different channels. The cinematic images seen in the video, show several Students and Alumni from Hotelschool The Hague and their ambitions.
The idea behind the video is to express the ambition, the drive to go the extra mile, and the community feeling of Hotelschool The Hague’s Alumni and Students. Alumni of Hotelschool The Hague are worldwide appreciated for their qualities: ambitious, service-minded, motivated, social, and with excellent leadership skills. Our students are international, driven, and professional, they keep sustainability in mind and most importantly: they follow their dreams. What they have in common? Their mindset.
In this video a student of Hotelschool The Hague expresses that mindset. We see her working with an international group of students, and following a lecture. Next to that we see three Hotelschool The Hague Alumni at work; all working in different sectors, however all with the same ambition, drive, social skills and leadership skills.
The following Alumni are shown in this video: Joris Bijdendijk (top chef from Michelin Star Restaurant RIJKS®), Melle van Uden (General Manager from Hotel Dikker & Thijs Fenice Hotel and winner of the Misset Horeca Young Talent Award 2016) and Margot Haring (graduated in 2016, Business Development & Innovation Associate at Changing Life). Hotelschool The Hague MBA Students in the spotlight: Jerry Diamantatos
Gerasimos “Jerry” Diamantatos is 28 years old and was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He is the oldest of three brothers and a self-taught piano player. Currently, Jerry is part of the MBA programme at Hotelschool the Hague.
“I am convinced that I couldn’t have picked a better timing than now, to enroll in such a dynamic MBA program as the one of Hotelschool The Hague. The classes and courses perfectly match my needs and wants, especially given my previous experience. Having a global solid background with multinational hospitality operators, I am now able to lift my skills to a whole new level. I loved everything so far! The management and their attention to detail during the program are exceptional. The lecturers are inspiring and motivating, and the best thing is that they are very interactive. There is always room for discussion and brainstorming, which fits with our dynamic group. There are so many talented personalities around, and all of us usually undertake many activities together! I am super energetic, and I am able to connect with almost everyone from any layer or perspective. I love being around people, which fits my open and communicative character.”
“I enjoy waking up early to do some exercise. That feeling you have afterwards, like you are ready to take on the world, lasts for days. Apart from that, I love playing the piano. When I was about 12 years of age, my dad was travelling in Dubai. One day he asked what I would really like him to bring for me as a present. Just out of curiosity I asked him whether he could bring me a keyboard. And so he did. After that, I started teaching myself to play the piano, just by listening and trying to unlock the mysteries of sound. Composing music came naturally, and nowadays there is nothing that helps me re-energize more than playing the piano. You can find me around at the public piano we have at the Amsterdam Central Station, or the piano we have in the hall of school.”
“I have lived in Dubai, and during this time I worked as a Restaurant Manager at Okku. Okku is Dubai’s voted favorite Japanese restaurant, and we’ve won many awards so far. Reaching a nomination for the “Restaurant Manager of the Year” in the “Caterer Middle East Awards” was an extra verification for me to keep pursuing my dreams.
“My ambition is to start my own business at some point. I would love to be able to provide other people with a venue which offers bespoke products and services, and my desire would be to have it in Greece. I have traveled the globe, but my favorite place will always be Greece. The vibe, the open and friendly atmosphere and the exciting feeling in the evenings make me love the Mediterranean. Always keeping an open mind for opportunities, I embrace the chance of being involved in the F&B development of big hospitality operators.”

Hotelschool The Hague – Alumni Survey Outcomes
Since the foundation in 1929, thousands of students have graduated from Hotelschool The Hague. Alumni from many different countries study at the The Hague Campus or the Amsterdam Campus, and afterwards move all over the world. They hold leading positions in the hospitality industry and in hospitality-related industries. The first Alumni Chapter was launched in London; there are currently more than twenty active Chapters: from Singapore to Sao Paolo, and from Berlin to Beijing. Alumni should be the best possible ambassadors. This study proves that this is indeed the case for Hotelschool The Hague: 99% of Alumni recommend Hotelschool The Hague. Another good sign: 1,155 of a total of 7,500 Alumni completed the questionnaire that this study is based on. This response rate of more than 15 percent is almost twice the average for this kind of study. The questions posed in the study cover various topics, such as the education itself, the management placement, what Alumni did after graduation, their first job, entrepreneurship, their current job, and a review of the study at Hotelschool The Hague. Alumni are divided into four sub-groups in this study:
- Men and women
- Dutch and International Alumni (Internationals)
- Alumni from Amsterdam and The Hague
- Clusters of graduation years: less than 5 years ago, 5 to 10 years ago, 10 to 15 years ago, 15 to 25 years ago, more than 25 years ago
This refinement of the study gives detailed insight into the employment of Alumni, their career development, and the link between education and the professional field.
Hotelschool The Hague students successfully assisted at Goût de France Gala dinner
On Tuesday 21 March, 15 students from Hotelschool The Hague assisted at the prestigious Goût de France at the French Embassy in The Hague to help turn it into a successful event. Goût de France celebrates French gastronomy worldwide. It was a perfect opportunity for highly ambitious and skilled students to learn about fine dining the French way. For this third edition, they helped Master Chef Jacques Rolancy and Chef David Pradelle to prepare and serve a very special Gala Dinner for distinguished guests.
Goût de France is the largest French dinner in the world, involving 2000 chefs, 2000 menus, 71 cookery/hospitality schools and 150 ambassadors on 5 continents. In The Netherlands, 23 restaurants participate to the event.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development organises the worldwide dinner, in close cooperation with famous Chef Alain Ducasse.
Goût de France has been inspired by Auguste Escoffier, who launched the “Dîners d’Épicure” (Epicurean Dinners) initiative in 1912: the same menu, on the same day, in several cities worldwide for as many guests as possible.
